Eskom problems could take a decade to fix

Eskom chief executive Tshediso Matona says that the company's power supply woes may take up to a decade to rectify.

Okay... So given time-line is 10 years.... Which means that everything should be up and running around 2045.

No, the report said that in 1998.

Should have been all fixed by 2008, none of the load-shedding and cutbacks should ever have happened.

I'm so fed-up with these Eskom press releases.
If you acted in 1998, we wouldn't be here.

If municipalities get rid of those that steal power and let them pay for the power, we all would be in a better place regarding availability.

Put more thought in the contracts you put in place.

Don't give the CEO and his management stupidly high bonuses and pay cheques that they don't deserve.

The way SA operates, the 10 years will become 18 years and by that time the CEO will receive a R120 million bonus.
