Eskom's improved performance, load-shedding reprieve, and low diesel expenditure refute former CEO André de Ruyter's claims about why there are no rolling blackouts.

Earlier this year, Nuuspod's Izak du Plessis asked former Eskom chief executive André de Ruyter why the power utility was able to contain load-shedding.

Yeah, he also said systemic corruption and sabotage contributed to loadshedding.

This recovery in operational performance is nothing sort of miraculous and whatever the reason, we'll never get the complete truth.

We've been lied to before by ESKOM and government and I'll remain cynical until end March 2025
 
Um, ADR was trying to get OEMs in. He just didn't have the political and financial backing to do it. So ya, someone might want to go and fix this article to be a little less judgemental.

ADR tried his best, for that he got torn apart by the cadres and politicians and the absolute filth working at Eishkom
fled the state, fearing for his life and the ANC lost its majority cause they got too greedy,

now eskom is miraculously fixed? something is weird here, and I think the truth needs to be exposed for all to know , just how corrupt the ANC actually is.

as they behind load shedding 100000% Eskom tried their best, but ultimately failed.

Can't believe how dumb they are, contradicting themselves like that.

On the other hand they don't give a s###.
They only need to convince a couple million dumdums.
 
I'd love to know the contributions of each of the following:-
1) Eskom?
2) Low economic activity?
3) Private PV (and other renewable) generation?

As largely pointed out, the current success of Eskom directly correlates to policies that were either put in place originally under ADR, or policies now put into place that were floated under ADR but were, up until his axing, prevented from being implemented due to political meddling and sabotage by criminal syndicates with political ties. Improvements due to the heavier maintenance schedule, and the use of OEMs being two prime examples, on top of policies to improve self generation capacity allowances which have reduced load.

Their claiming that current success is wholly independent of what ADR did is disingenuous (since they just took what he wanted to do and implemented it), and shameful at worst. They just can’t stand to be, and refuse to be, shown up by a white guy who wasn’t strongly politically aligned with the ANC, and it’s pretty disgusting.

Makes one wonder when the ANC is gonna start these shenanigans in the GNU…
 
The interesting part here is that Nyati basically admitted that BEE middleman policies of the ANC was a large cause for the reliability of the power plants. By bypassing those requirements and working with OEMs directly, Eskom is able to maintain a higher uptime and De Ryuter's maintainence plan isn't the cause for the load shedding relief.

Eventually truth is always revealed, and becomes so obvious that even the headstrong can't deny it.
 
ADR highlighted all the corruption, Escum would still be paying R100 a toilet roll if it was not for him. Lights are on because of solar panels installations. Also the ANC has F***ed the mining industry up so badly, and they were the big uses of electricity. So Escum, don't pat yourself on the back, be grateful the private sector took control.
