of course we can - just don't pay the increase! just pay a flat average fee each month , but that would only work if every dick , tom & harry did the same.

that ain't going to happen in SA cause us whities are to scared to protest!

problem is worse for those who get their electricity indirectly through a municipality - they are going to screwed twice - once by Eskom and once by the municipality who wants their slice of the pie as well.
 
So the can afford the Molefe debacle and defraud another few billion while they are at it.
 
Recession announcement yesterday means Eskom won't get it.. maybe 6% max.. so expect another multi year increase.

The recession is across energy users so yea.. good luck Eskom justifying massive capital expenditure as your base is shrinking. And without capital spent on renewables in industries, they will closersther than pay exorbitant energy costs due to downturn.. mining and farming going off grid.

I think the 2019 ANC loosing election looks very real for every month Zuma, recession, downgrade etc looms.. now to see if he pulls a Mugabe or exits (and likely country too) to avoid spending his retirement in jail with his family
