Eskom starts stage 2 load shedding

Stage one load shedding allows for up to 1000MW of the national load to be cut, stage two for up to 2000MW, and stage three for up to 4000MW.
Good to know - thanks

Double whammy bwana, we go off at 14:00 according to the schedule.

... doubt my batteries are going to cope with only 2 hours to charge from this mornings outage :(

Might crank up the generator - might not.

Just hung my biltong too :o

According to load shedding site, We're currently only in stage one.. make up your minds eskom??

So we have load shedding at stage 2 but THE SPEECH will have power? Not like he is going to say anything useful...

The #Eskom wheels coming off: 2 more units taken off service: Kriel Unit 3 has boiler tube leak; Camden Unit 4 has generator hydrogen leak.

HYDROGEN?! wtaf?

oh great, they stole our cables last night and just finished repairing them, and I guess later today going to out again

Oooh, I see - http://loadshedding.eskom.co.za/

That's the live update site.

still showing load shedding stage 1; I also think its physiological;

if they actually showed the amount of loadshedding going on; people would be like F**** eishkom, and as the needle climbed higher
poeple would get much more angry with them, so I think that site is inaccurate, like a switch that does nothing;

they cant actually show us what their dealing with; so its more to calm us down than anything.

I know in the past it does get updated, Generally takes a little while after the stage change though.

Im always wondering how accurate it actually is? and how much there actually telling us;
what if its just about tickets for the grid; and they keep showing stage 1, just to calm everybody down;

but thats me and my conspiracy theories....

do what I do during load shedding; unplug everything from wall; and leave one house light switched on;
when it returns your fridges and electronics dont short out; and you can tell exactly when it comes back.

will this work the same if you just turn off all plugs at the DB?
