My friend's mom is friends with a person high up in Eskom.....
Word is they could build a power station right now and finish it. They probably would but it would only go into operation after Zuma goes into power:rolleyes:

They are trying to promote Zuma as a saviour:eek:

BS. A power station takes about 6-7 years to plan & build. Not "right now" or in the 20 months or so before Zuma comes into power.

Get Zuma to build it, he'll build it in a week or so and if anything happens (Nuclear disaster), come on, we know Zuma, he'll just shower the problems away :)

I don't know who your mom's friend in Eskom is, but i think he doesn't know what he is talking about. This maybe possible if they bring an old moth balled power station back on line which has an existing infrastructure and network, but building a new power station in such a short time is impossible. The chinese who are 100 times more productive can't do it so how are we going to do it in Africa?

If it was humanly possible to build a new power station in a year it still won't happen. For example: the materials wont arrive on time because the supplier is out of stock due to load shedding, the site foreman will give himself a nice bonus and all the staff will go on strike thus delaying the project, etc etc. Look at the fiasco surrounding the world cup soccer stadiums. As said before it won't happen.
