Would be the perfect business model.

Standard & Poor's has downgraded Eskom's long-term credit rating to BB+ following the suspension of four of its senior officials.

Eskom can't borrow money, so they will just take it.

Agreed, this strategy has worked well for them in the past. Oh, and once all all the cash flow problems have been resolved don't expect any degreases in fees. :twisted:

I will agree to this increase, IF we have full and complete public access to the SCADA system that Eskom employs so that we can see the state of the electricity network in a real time basis, and that any plans for improving the situation are made public...

Basically Eskom needs to stop being cagey and give us ALL the info, then I'd accept the increase.

Technically we do, and I am at least putting forward things that Eskom can do that would make the increase easier to swallow from the publics point of view, we'd have a view into the company at least.

They are firing all those skilled workers, I'd guess this is budgeting to hire them back as contractors (at contractor rates)

I would pay if I could be guaranteed a decent service. It's like selling someone a car, and saying our company is going broke because we are incompetent, but we will remove all the doors, seats and the wheels from the car and then you must pay double.
