Eskom warns over SWC power supply

I'll do my bit to reduce my electricity consumption, as I always have. Whether it is for the benefit of the country or the earth as a whole.

Self centred people suck balls!

Yesterday morning when I woke up, there was no electricity at the complex where I live, in Centurion. Later yesterday we were told that a substation blew up and went up in flames. Needless to say I was very angry, angry I tell you. I felt like going to Eskom headquarters and setting their offices on fire. It was a day before the world cup, I kept asking myself, why now? Why a day before the world cup? But they've made a plan and connected us, so we have our electricity back, but it's all temporary. They told us that their technicians will start fixing that substation tomorrow. I guess today doesn't suit them because of the world cup.

But all that aside, I am feeling it, I will not let Eskom ruin my day, and my world cup experience. :). So if power does go out during this world cup event, I will make a plan to go watch a game somewhere else, like my sister's house or parent's house.

Phillip eats here!!! (Fell it, it's here) :D

With all their upcoming price hikes, and the way that solar panels and wind generators are advancing in technology, they are gonna have no residential customers in a few years, and then they'll be begging for everyone to use more electricity to fund their performance bonuses...

I had to have a cold shower this morning due to the power being off some time this morning.

Take a drive along the M4 from Durban at 11PM, it passes right through all the massive industrial areas including Jacobs & Mobeni and see how many factories are burning their thousands of lights bright as ever.

Why must we have to turn off our lights and appliances and they not even a single lightbulb?!?

Sorry Eishkom, I'm not budging on this one.

I will sit in the dark and I will show you who is boss - good attitude there, that will teach them!

Eskom is so full of ****, they raised the prices of electricity last year and then proceeded to post billions of rands in profit this year!
Where is all that money? Where are the plans for sustainable energy? Where is the power?
In the pockets of the luxury car dealers, thats were!!

You guys can bitch as much as you like about Eskom - and they are useless I agree - but this wont stop them from charging you more or putting you in the dark if you dont pay your bills!
