“Unfortunately, this would generally require the implementation of load-shedding during the evening peaks.”

That is fine. Keep it like that for as long as is needed.
Then we can plan around it. Also, traffic is much less interrupted.

During 5pm to 10pm?? There's about an hour and half of peak during that time.

Yup seems the rotational schedule for City Power doesn't really rotate too well for higher stages
It rotates well enough if there is continuous load shedding but with the on/off nature of it, it always feels like they only load-shed during times that we're scheduled to be affected. Likely not the case and I guess we can be glad we only had one hour last night and one hour tonight.

Hmm not really, though if you're in Block 2 you get lucky.

Eskom hinted that the implementation of load-shedding during the evening peak could become a common occurrence.

“The onset of winter has seen increased demand and this will lead to severe capacity constraints throughout this period, particularly during the evening and morning peaks,” it said.

No amount of renewable energy on the grid can solve this issue I might add.

Something my energy systems lecturer said about electricity grids: The problem isn't a J issue, it is a dJ/dt issue.

Much better then during the day, every now and again.

If you want, we can discuss the times.

What I am saying is, Eskom should rather give us a loadshedding timeslot, which we can plan around compared to dropping loadshedding, then starting loadshedding, then dropping.
We know maintenance and loadshedding is required now, so rather give us a time/duration.

lol they don't even want to admit if it was tripped or taken offline for repairs:

Grootvlei and Matla power stations either tripped or were taken offline for repairs,” Eskom said in a statement.
