Esquire Axtrom DDR3 1333 - wrong spec?

@Oldhat: Eish G41 chipset. It doesn't officially support more than 4GB of DDR3 memory. It also doesn't support speeds greater than 1066. This is a chipset limitation. May be that Intel have upped those restrictions at some point.

Yes, G41 does not support either officially but most boards have an option to 'overclock' chipset to 1333 & some even 1600Mhz! The board I am using(Foxconn G41mxe) claims to support 1333 & 2 x 4gm ram. The 2 x 4Gb Axtrom ram works fine at 1066 & 2 x 2Gb Samsung ram also works fine at 1333. There are many who do have 8Gb working at 1333 with identical board - seems Axtrom just not compatible :(

Just borrowed 2 x 4Gb Kinkston DDR3 1333 from neighbour - works perfectly!

??

Good news tho, don't want to say I told you Kingston was the best but.... :p

Lol, it's the same Kingston that does not work on his G41 board(Asus)!?! Now if we can find ram compatible with his board...

Compare the amount of memory chips on the RAM modules and see if they are the same on the Kingston & Axtrom.

If you ask me, the Axtrom ones have half of the amount of chips that the Kingston ones have, which means they are higher density and would most likely not work in that motherboard at 1333Mhz.

Identical number of chips(16) on Kingston & Axtrom - both only work at 1066 with Asus board :(

Solved: Applied latest BIOS update to Asus board, Axtrom ram now works at 1333Mhz :)
