Esquire bitch

Guys come on. You get what you pay for. Esquire's prices are generally good even on the branded things. Just go for those and skip out on the crappy no name brands.

+n. If you buy the know brands you can't go wrong. They generally come with a nice warranty too

I only buy branded items from Esquire after comparing prices but the worst is their warranty department. Had some Seagate 500GB HDDs with firmware issues and after the second failure they still wanted to 'test' it for a week and then tried to give me another one with the same firmware version!!! Went ballistic.

Come on Esquire. Some feedback needed. Say it ain't so...

Response from Esquire regarding the Thread

I am the first to admit that our service was never great , as we grew too fast and too quickly , and those were growing pains of any business , from a Three man operation working out of a tiny 120sqm house with six containers as a warehouse to a 250 team and in a 6500 sqm office park And six branches in last then 7 yrs anything is bound to happen with service but it does not mean that we don’t take our service seriously , in fact we sit every week doing a post mortem of the week and also finding solutions to issues that arise , As a company that started off with 300 registered resellers to over 12000 with which 9000 actively trading with us every month, we must doing something right as even with the recession and economic meltdown we still achieve our targets month after month, unfortunately as fact of life when you do good nobody gives the you the recognition but do always find the negative to talk or post about , but this something we learned to live with and also learn from those to better our customer experiences to improve our service levels,

As far as quality is concern if our quality was that bad we won’t do an average of R 29 million per month in sales we would have lost our clients a long time ago , Sure we might have lost a few clients that want higher quality products which we cannot provide but majority of our clients still continue to purchase from us on the brands that we import. –

Almost every time I meet a client from the days when we started they remain me of the days when I said that we would keep the business small and simple but the business has exploded , not because we wanted to but because our clients demanded our products.

I do agree that many other distributors have premium brands and also have premium pricing on those products, that was never the segment of the market we Looked at as it is a very small market and never made financial sense for us to go into that segment as well , however since I have been on Mybroadband and using it as a benchmark , we have address on bringing in higher quality brands as to market such as the motherboards mention a number of times on the threads

I am not always on MyBB but PM me if you have any issues and I will try my best to sort it out or even send me an email to [email protected], I take service to my clients very serious.

guys, if you bought a dinky toy MP3 player or a micky mouse Mobo, don't blame Esquire since they only import it and sell it again - they did not ask you to buy it, YOU are the one who wanted it. YOU are the one who saved a lot of money.

All shops sell cheap stuff, and expensive stuff - YOU must know whether you want a cheap noname mp3 player, or an expensive iPod.

stay with the brand name stuff if you want the best quality, like intel, samsung and so on.

this is basic stuff guys.

IMO i'll rather take 2 x 1TB drives from them than 1 x 1TB drive at matrix warehouse. (both come in at R1600)

Don't blame Esquire if your seagate FAILED - that's SEAGATES fault.

I don't think the other dude was blaming esquire for the drives failing. He was just angry at the fact that they had taken a whole week to replace the drive and when they eventually did replace it, he got the one with the bad firmware again
