Esquire-Crazy Special for this week

There is the truth. Since Rectron are stringent about who they give accounts to, you have to have a business registered as a computer retailer to get an account it is clear why you have such a problem with Esquire.
I have a problem with their warranty process, but there prices are even better than rectrons prices alot of the time. So for me the answer is simple. If I am buying a critical component that I simply cannot wait a week for while they find their arses in the warranty department I buy it from rectron.
For other stuff like hdd's and such I buy from esquire.

I've dealt with rectron before and tbh, they're ****holes. They make out like you have to be very lucky to get an account with them.. They ask you questions which cannot be answered and then hold you to it!

Billy, seeing as tho you have a rectron account, you must have a business dealing with computers. I assume from a business point of view, people being able to view esquire deals and even purchase them, it must be damaging?.. At least by the way you're complaining, it seems that way...

Sorry esquire, just to go back on topic here, when the telefunken tv's are back in stock, will they still be R1999?

Not at all my only problem is with Companies blatantly breaking laws.

It is illegal to advertise EX VAT prices which Esquire do on their website.

If a client wants a product, and I know that he could get it cheaper by going directly to a supplier, I would tell him.

Many times product is available cheaper from Makro than a registered dealer can get it for.

I also source from other dealers if I cannot get from a regular supplier.

I also tell my customers what my mark-up is. Most are happy to pay the mark-up to save the hassle of collecting and possible warranty claims.

Ok well billy, cool story bro.

none of us mind buying from esquire with prices advertised ex-vat.

Can Esquire indicate if this is a dealer price list or general advertising?
I went and double-checked the ads... it mentions registering with them but does not clearly indicate that it is a dealer price list.

If they edit the Advert by adding "Dealers Only" then it would nullify Billy's crusade.

Its usually best to buy directly from the Supplier, because retailors can go bust so easily, what do you do then?

is esquire still selling broken stuff and trying to blame the customer when they return demanding a refund or replacement? these tactics put me off them

You had bad luck... That's all.

I've bought 100+ items from them, only thing to have broken is my Car mp3 player, but I stood on it :)

Actually don't understand why we have a crusader. It seems that Esquire is doing MyBB members a favour and boosting its business, so really don't see problem!

Agreed.

Anyone with some insight would be able to see that Esquire is getting it's foot in the door to become SA's newegg. (Supplier to customer)
They're starting with informed customers (MyBB users) and will probably move on in future to the public.

If they had shares to sell, I'd be first to buy in.
The challenges they face to get this working is some way of return policy, a good web interface and a courier partner.

When they get through on these we'll see the end of most online IT stores in SA.

So Esquire, if you plan on selling shares in your company, please contact me first! :)
