Esquire-Crazy Special for this week

is esquire still selling broken stuff and trying to blame the customer when they return demanding a refund or replacement? these tactics put me off them
I have seen you post this quite a few times in the past. I have only ever returned one item to Esquire and it was swopped out. It took 5 Days because I bought it on one of the Specials and they had no stock. No issues with it since then. You obviously have an axe to grind about something and in your mind you have reconciled yourself that you have been done in despite evidence to the contrary. I see a lot of this type of posts on Amazon.com and they usually follow the same type of logic.

While the Equire warranty process is not geared to customer service (read painful and time consuming), I have never had a valid claim rejected.
They do have fire sales every now and then where they sell stuff that might be broken, but then its clearly stated "no warranty or returns". You buy it at your own risk.
Some people have scored big time on that, others lose a bit.

They seriously need to jack up their warranty process, but there is nothing unethical as far as I can see.

Damn! Every time I look at hard drive prices now I get sad. I paid R1300 for my 1tb drive about a year ago and now you can get one for around R500 :(

I am waiting for the Mede8er MED500X2. Any update on when you would be getting stocks? Thx

Hmm you missed out on the special from mede8er shop (i did too so not alone).

You could purchase both the X2 + 400x for an additonal R200.

Wonder if Esquire will do the same though that above deal was limited to first 50 :)

Gents, whats your advice? is it worth the risk taking up any of the specials on offer by Esquire?

Listen, there is nothing wrong with esquires stock. The stuff you buy comes with the standard manufacturers warranty.
There prices are very good, the only issue I have with them is the way they handle warranties. It takes a bit long (the warranty process), but on most stuff the saving is worth the hassle. And besides, as with anything 99% of the stuff I have bought from them is still going perfectly.
Just don't deal with their CCTV department.

Same here, out of a number purchases, I've had 1 HDD fail within the warranty, which was tested and then replaced within a week. My main complaint has been the 1 or 2 cases where an item was advertised on a special, only to find that the model on the shelf was different. The sales-person ummed and aahhed about stock being sold out (when there were a dozen boxes of the wrong item on the shelf, marked at the sale price). I just wasn't inclined to take things further at the time

Just got confirmation from my Product manager that 150 x Units of the Mede8erx2 will be in by Friday afternoon in Midrand branch
Price on these units are R1549 excl vat.

All other branches will have stock by next week

Maybe this sounds stupid but why not give prices including vat? this whole excluding vat story just makes everything sound cheaper when it isnt really...

Because technically its meant for re-sellers and other people with businesses. The only people that do not fall into that category are us here at mybb, and only because Mr. Esquire has a soft spot for us. :)
As a business the ex vat price is the one I want to see because I claim the vat back anyway.

I'm glad to hear that Esquire will be the first to start selling BD's on large scale. Those freaking disks are cheaper than DVD's per GB so it's high time someone starts selling them. I've been drukking on Esquire to import BD's for almost a year already, so I wouldn't be surprised if I was the reason they decided to get them. I was gonna import them myself, but I prefer letting the professionals do it instead. With this Esquire are gonna steal the Bluray market.

Also bought items recently, with zero hassles. Just wish I had waited 2 weeks before purchasing the Mede8er at R1,400 when the X2 will be R1549.:( Lol at the ripp-off shop owners trying to soil Esquire's name!

That price is wrong. I went there to get one and was told it was R1799 excl iirc. Had to go to the manager and show post #31 with the price before I could get it for R1549

Yes but mr esquire is now selling to the public so i think it is only fair on this forum to quote pricing including vat as many people cannot claim it back.
