Any thoughts on whether the Esquire Mini Wireless Keyboard With Optical Tack will work with a Mede8er 500X2? The cost for the Esquire is far better than the Mede8er mini keyboard and so would love to hear your opinions.

Thanks in advance.

@Mfour ,
With over 3000 units sold in two years and only 26 units that came back for RMA in that time , these units are of excellent quality
I use mine on the Med8er and AC Ryan Media players at home.

whats the price of the Esquire one?

Also consider this one for R491, free delivery to your door.

I know 4 people personally including myself who has it and it works awesome, uses 2.4ghz so great range. and has touchpad mouse.

Esquire, does antenna require power? I would like to use it on my Raspberry Pi but it's USB ports can't supply power.

@Fudzy, I use the mini keyboard on my Rasbmc Pi and it works great. You charge the keyboard through USB so plug it into your pc and charge it that way.

Sorry for bumping but I was searching for the Esq Mini KB and its compatibility with the Pi. So:

(1) Does the MiniKB use a transceiver? How much power does it draw (the transceiver)?
(2) The KB itself: you say it charges via USB? So once it is charged, I can use it? For how long before the next charge?
(3) Does the transceiver require drivers on the Pi?

It looks like it has a transceiver that works with the RPi. Charging will probably require a powered USB port though.

With regards to the drivers I'd imagine if it's like my other air mouse keyboard the device is detected as a normal mouse & keyboard so I'm hoping it won't need any special drivers.

Thank you for your input, it then does sound like a viable option.

If I remember correctly it is about half that price, and the Mede8er sells for the same price as the Rii.

Thank you for your inputs guys, much appreciated. So it comes down to personal choice I guess. The Esquire is about half the price of the other one's on offer, but the Mede8er has some perks (only applicable to the Mede8er players) in the form of pre-programmed keys for specific application, meaning you won't have to use the keyboard and a remote control. Decisions, decisions...

bought one and am very happy, i love it !

gonna use it on my media pc i'm building, tried it on my netbook book as well and its very good !
