Estate agent commissions - negotiation on %?

Two year ago I sold my flat, it was sold for R300k more than I bought it for (had it for 18 months) and sold within a few hours. Commision was 7%.

If I had to sell my house, I don't think I'd be willing to pay more than 5% because of the value of the property.
 
I honestly think unless you're an orc, sell it yourself, especially as the value of the home increases.

Wtf would you want to spend even 5% of your hard earned investment for someone to take photos and create an ad for you.
