Good Evening everyone

I'm looking into information into what will be the expected cost of developing a web site. The website will be a site that sells products and services, advertises it's products online, and would have a couple of pages explaining ideas and concepts.

I'm not looking for a "how to do it", But I would like to know what I can expect to pay for a design like that, to be done professionally ?

I had a look around on a couple sites online, but would like some local input.

If you do this kind of thing professionally, feel free to pm me.

Can you PM me more info? Like what type of products etc.

You're basically looking for a E-Commerce solution.

e-commerce you'll pay for what you get. anything from R5k to R150k depending on the size and solutions for the site, etc a payment gateway, security sertificate, secure encryption, flash, video etc.

you get ready made solutions that can be customized for you, at a price.

your success of an e-commerce site lay in the design and functionallity.

I have implemented plenty of these using the Wordpress solution. It gives you a fully functional backend content management system and it is free.

For the e-commerce side, you might have to pay somethig like $50 and then again another $50 for a decent Wordpress template.
All in all, should cost you around R6k-R8k.

No need to get big companies involved with their really high prices.

PM me if you want more information.

For a professionally designed an implemented site (with or without using custom code, just note, if you go for a pre-made CMS/Store you will end up in a position where you want to grow to a point where IT cannot take you, I have a friend in this situation after I told him to do custom dev rather), you're looking at R8k for the design alone, and a further 3-150k depending on if you do a premade CMS or custom dev from the ground up.

What you are looking for is an e-commerce website and the cost will depend on how big it is. Generally e-commerce websites are big and cost a lot. You can contact some related companies, ask them to bid for their services and you can choose the best one for yourself.

I would say R15k for a well polished woocommerce wordpress site servicing less than 1000 visitors/transactions a day. This will include a template, customization of template design by a graphic designer, professional paid for plugins and actual implementation by a developer. This does not include certificates etc but you will be able to start trading straight away using paypal or EFT. When you start adding things like credit card gateways the fees involved in this start adding to the cost.

You're dreaming if you gonna find a design from a graphics designer for 15k. Either they're desperate for work, or bad.

Hey guys

Thanks for the input, i've been internet-less for a couple of weeks, just moved down to Cape Town.

Like i said, I'm not looking for it to be free, and I think +- R10K sounds reasonable for a proper site, I will PM a couple of you guys with some more info, and for a rough quote.

Looking forward to working with you guys.
