Hey guys,

I just tried sending some files over to my laptop (Acer Aspire 3054 WXCi) and I realized the Ethernet controller isn't installed. I downloaded the latest Realtek LAN driver and it didn't help.

My question: Where would I get the Ethernet controller driver for my laptop? Is the Ethernet controller's driver perhaps bundled with the chipset driver? I couldn't find the chipset driver for my laptop online. I also downloaded the latest AMD CPU driver just in case, no luck.

Any ideas in installing this?

Thanks

Note: I didn't see that I was in the hardware section, sorry!

When it comes to drivers, Acer does do a good job of helping you find the correct drivers.

There are a few companies out there who need a fat smack with regards to 'support/drivers' on their web sites.

Thanks for the link, but after installing the LAN driver from Acer my Ethernet controller is still not installed and my LAN doesn't work. It keeps saying that the cable is not connected.

Any other ideas?

Thanks

Fixed!

I don't get it, but my PC and laptop pretended that the cable was not connected. Then I got my Ethernet Switch and now that I've connected both to the switch everything works!

What is up with that? Just glad it works now.

You need a crossover cable to connect two computers directly.

edit: lol slow typing

Well guys, I've done it with them before I had formated the laptop's HDD some time ago. Therfor I thought it had to work.

At least it is working now. :)
