Ethernet cross-over adapter?

Do you mean an Ethernet Cross-over cable to connect 2 ethernet ports without a switch?

If so, any Incredible Corruption will do.

No, not a cable. Something like this: http://www.usbfirewire.com/Parts/rr-et-crossoveradapter.html

I don't want to go through the hassle of recrimping a cable. I am not able to replace the current cable or pull in a new one as it has been concreted into the wall by my lovely builder.

Do you really need that device? Most newer nics & routers will autosense the cable type and adapt accordingly.

try these guys I get all my RJ45 stuff from them here in Durban, never asked for one of those though.. you could put a wall mount box, no crimping, just pushing the wires into the correct numbered slot

don't you have a hub? or a Ethernet adsl modem? it will be easier than getting an adaptor

I have two autosensing gigabit switches, where I thought that the switches would connect properly. Before I recrimp, I would go with an adaptor to test it out.

Try the guys at the fleamarket, Or PC World? :)
I use something similar, its like a little adapter (as on your pic... looks like the open rear view on both sides) with LAN port on each side, about 5cm long... like u some LAN cables are just too short, and cannot move, so put this thing on the LAN cable end, and plug another LAN cable on other end... instant extension

Another option, if you don't want to re-crimp is to get a RJ-45 coupler and a short cross over cable, then just connect the two and it will works as one long cross over.
