Ethernet driver installation freezing - MSI motherboard

Hi guys

I'm having an issue with my Ethernet controller. Windows shows tells me that there is currently no functioning driver - not sure how it went missing. I've tried downloading the latest driver but every time I try to install it the installation freezes. Ive also tried their LiveUpdate utility, same result.

Any help would be much appreciated, I can't get my ADSL running until this is sorted out.

Motherboard - MSI H55M-E23
Windows 7 (32bit)

Which chipset or ethernet controller chip (usually shown in the manual)
Some of these MSI and other cheap brands use really bad chipsets. I have had a similar issue with an ASUS board many moons ago

The manual says its Intel H55 chipset.

Update the BIOS?

Yeah, I'm trying to do a total update through the LiveUpdater... taking some time.
