:p :p :p

hehe

well the cable i got with the iBurst modem worked for me ... modem - pc ... and also working for modem - router

/me smacks krocka-tjorrie on the head ... iBurst your Network intelligence bubble hehehe j/k

When I got iBurst there was no cable in the box, I got mine a long time ago, before they included the cable. I use a straight (non-crossover) cable into my router.

dont get me wrong guys pls .. im no fundi .. but i can only share the info that helped me into solving my problems
See the thing is i had hectic packet losses and i am very far from a tower and my modem kept hanging and had to reset everything every 5 mins ...

so i played around with the MTU settings and i found that for me 1292 is the best setting for performance and packet loss

hope these will help you

I got to this:
Default settings

Default MTU
1500 - Windows machines

Default RWINs
8192 - Windows 95/98/98SE/NT
16384 - Windows ME/2k
Windows XP dynamically calculates the RWIN

Is it necessary to adjust if windows "dynamically calculates" it?

Anyways, f--- ethernet. I couldn't connect via pppoe since friday. back on usb.

what's the hours that the technical paper-against-the-wall people will be able to help me? and must i use the helpdesk number to get to them? I can only get to my utd after work...
