Really poor from Supersport.

I'm quite pleased today as Scotland played well last night and lost by a slack goal. Strachan has them believing in themselves and that was their first loss after 6 undefeated. I'm looking forward to a good campaign here and hopefully a place in the finals.

May this be due to the broadcasting deal with Siyaya TV, though it only commence on 30 April 2015? There was an issue to make provisions to allow these matches to be sub-licensed to the national broadcaster. I am under the understanding that Supersport may only broadcast PSL matches in relation with SAFA…

Unfortunately we don't have the rights.

From the DSTV forums in response to the question why are we're not watching Euro Qualifiers.

what?? that must be history. they usually gobble everything up. anybody know if somebody here has it? that would be an interesting development.

I was about to ask the same. Pretty pissed that they're not showing the euros and very bizarre that they don't have rights. Bloody annoying that they just show the afcon *** that no one gives a **** about.

The rights have gone to StarSat, and everytime I want to whinge because we pay the higher subscription, I think I'm being a spoilt brat..
Its a weird feeling
I feel we deserve it, but at the same time, what?

If this continues we might find ourselves in a situation where we'll need two subscriptions, or turn to online streams

Hi,

Does anybody have a link for live streaming Swiss vs England ?

thanks

I don't understand the logic behind the way UEFA organises its qualification campaigns. During every round of quailifiers for both the World Cup and European Championship we watch the likes of San Marino, Andorra, Malta, Liechtenstein and Luxembourg get absolutely torn to pieces. Now they have been joined by Gibraltar, who were thumped 7-0 in their first competitive game against Poland, who are hardly a heavyweight.

I understand that you want to grow the game, but you are not doing the sport or the smaller nations any favours when San Marino ends a qualifying campaign with no points and a goal difference of -53 after 10 games. In 24-years San Marino has never won a competitive game. Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Malta and Andorra fair no better. They are capable of the occasional upset and hard-earned draw, but it doesn't make up for the shellackings that they take in the other 8-9 games.

I think UEFA would be better served following the CAF/CONCACAF/AFC model and eliminate weakers nations via preliminary knockouts. As an example, Bhutan and San Marino are the lowest ranked nations in the world. Bhuthan has to pre-qualify while San Marino is allowed to get drilled 13-0 by Germany.

It is also debatable if you can even develop the game in a country that has a population of 30,000 and struggles to lure more than 1,000 home fans to a match. I think putting the lower tiered nations into U-23 competitions would be more beneficial. Rather let the San Marinese lose 4-1 to a German U-23 side than get battered by the big boys in a match where nobody gains anything.
