if there is no place then why not just drop him? sounds like they accommodating him. the other strikers are in better form. he should sit on the bench.

It is the England way. They ALWAYS find a way to get the big name players in their squad and on the field, regardless of whether they're in form or not or whether the system works or not.

Every English manager seems to be too afraid to pick players on form and not reputation and set their sides up to accommodate these players.

Drinkwater, Townsend, de Foe and Noble are a lot more deserving of a spot in the squad than Lallana, Wheelchair, Sturridge and Henderson.

Rooney had some solid games in the midfield towards the end of the season but throughout the season there were midfielders that were consistently better.

Overall though it is a difficult squad to accommodate. There are no naturally wide left-footed players and a number of the midfielders do the same thing for their respective teams. The fact that you have two red-hot centre forwards doesn't help either.

since woy likes his midfield diamond a line up like this would've worked better yesterday, rooney barely dropped back to actually be a no 10 and provide passes to the strikers

EURO 2016 - PICK A WINNER

10/3 France, 9/2 Germany, 11/2 Spain, 9/1 England, 11/1 Belgium, 18/1 Italy, 20/1 Portugal, 100/1 Wales, 150/1 Ireland, 500/1 Northern Ireland

I see France are the favourites according to the bookies. I'll support France but for me is basically anybody except Spain.

So what is the chance that Poland can win this ? :erm:

They're in a group with Germany, Ukraine and Northern Ireland. You'ed think Germany to top that and second is going to be a battle between Poland & Ukraine.

4 of the six teams ending 3rd in their group can still make the knockout stage. Once it's knock out stage anything can happen.

Wow. Being here now for the Euros brings back memories of when I was here during the 2006 WC. This country is football befok! It's great to see all the St. George's crosses everywhere. The Union Jack is usually the flag of choice here, but not when the football's on! Of course, if you ask ANY Englishman where England will finish in the tournament, the answer is going to be "we're bringing it home, obviously".

Some schools are going to close next week when England play Wales, and the company I work for will be streaming it in the support centre.

Reminds me of the gees we had in 2010 back home.

The English always believe they will "win it this time"

They're still riding the '66 wave :p

Its the media that starts it all.

They usually qualify well so the media starts hyping the team up before every tournament, creating the illusion that they are one of the best. The public buys in. Then they flop and the media turns on them, vilifying individual players and then the general public forgets about them for the next two/three years.

Aaaand it's kicked off in France ahead of schedule. Two hooligans already arrested, with English fans singing "ISIS, where are you?"...

Good performance by England in the first half. They should have put at least one in.

Gives Russia a chance to sneak one ater on
