I'm a wow man, been one for many years and will probably be one for a couple more years to come.

I need something to keep me busy till the expansion hit.

Is it any good?
Is it like wow, where you can just get a copy off all the files from someone and buy a "game key" online or do you need the game files and install the game and all the patches?

You can pretty much get the install files off anyone who already has the game, else download them from the EVE Site. I even believe it's available on Steam.
Ask around on these forums for a Buddy Key and you get a 21 day trial. The EVE Site supplies a stock standard 14 day trial.

Though If you get hooked, you'll probably never go back to this 'WoW' thing you speak of. :twisted:

No, you need to install it with the official installer which is a ~2.6GB download. If you're in Cape Town I can burn you a DVD containing the installer and you can come pick it up.
