O.k i know this might of been asked before...
i did search.

I started playing eve about 3 weeks ago and i am really starting to get into it.
The only problem i am starting to find is that it gets a little old very quick.. i might be wrong but i am doing kill missions all the time but its starting to get old.
What can the eve players recommend i try out?

p.s are there any south african corps out there?

You've got lots of options. One of them is a long-term commitment to training something sweet you'd like to try. Aim for a battleship or something for a good start. Make cash mining, building, trading, missions, whatever while you do.

But, what you really want to be doing, is getting some pvp. I'd suggest joining a PvP corp, or a pirate corp, whichever. They won't trust such a young character with much at first but they'll usually provide ships for combat and fleet commanders for successful combat ops. You could join your Faction's militia if you wanted - you get constant combat like this but no real assistance financially so it makes it a real drain unless you already have billions.

And then once you've been in an engagement or two, you'll be line and sinker as well. PvP is the game's biggest drawcard and a proper adrenaline surge as losses are pretty substantial. Never mind though the corp will give you whatever friggies you can fly at first. Get to know 'em a bit do fleet ops etc and money will become a non issue, then just skills restrict you.

Finally, try and stay in your pod as much as possible. Ship too preferably, but at least a pod.

Yeah, what Beam said. I also got bored of the starting missions, but then bumped into another player from sa, joined their small corp which is part of a bigger alliance and i have learnt a hell of alot more than if i had stayed solo.

I have been involed in a few wars, done wormhole exploration, played in low sec systems where u dont trust anyone except your corp mates...

There are just so many things to do and specialise in eve, that you could easily play for a few years without having learnt everything.

To be honest , Eve's greatness is in it's pvp. No experiance like sitting in a 1000 man fleet. But to start, join one of the noobish corps, there are a couple around who will accept a person for pvp etc with only 1.5Mil skill and thats easy to hit.

Latency is always an issue for PvP in WoW, how is it in this game?

Running on the uncapped Axxess Fibre , no issues.

I also had no issues when was at 384k.

You can get lag but a lot was server based ( pure number crunching ) and thats been resolved nicely now. In October\December last year , we used to crash a node on a regular basis in a large fleet fight ( about 800 pilots ). Now, the largest I've been was near on Jita size which was 1200 odd and no crash with a minimal discernable lag.

I pick up my new card and monitor in 2 weeks time and I cannot wait to test it out on some large battles!

Actually most fleet fights turn most of the effects off unless you want to die.

Yes you can have it on but it distracts you a lot and does slow down a pc.

And I'm talking BIG battles. The avg small roam or combat makes no nevermind but a support fleet bashing each other while caps are slugging it out around them is a awesome thing to behold with effects but you will slow down.

Hehe , to quote a famous eve quote, " Sound? Eve has sound?"

/me starts counting down the hours to Eve.
