Ex Google engineers start competitor search engine - 'Cuil'

Refreshing but it needs some work. I have no speed issues with it at all. Good luck to these guys.

Strange. I get stuff back from cuil. Also, I actually find more results for some stuff I was looking for today.

strange

clicking your link I get

3,977,894 results for hp drivers download 6700 with Cuil

I think it's called indexing and while we are sipping coffee and laughing at this new venture it is indexing sites at breakneck speed?

I still think they were very ambitious to think they can get away with a statement like "far less machines than Google."

Search term "iphone launch vodacom"
Cuil = 0 hits
Google = 25,500 hits

looks interesting.... only time will tell if the masses like or not

Nah junk, searched for Nokia themes, just gives sites that got links on it, link to a link to a link.......

i just tried a number of searches and i either got 1 or 2 results or no results at all ! yet google pulls up 1000's ! for a search engine to claim to index "Search 121,617,892,992 web pages" it seems pretty laim that it cant find info on a topic like " why does firefox 3 use so much memory " 0 results !

Hey thing still has a long way until it can match up to google, looks like a damn blonde gal with a pretty face to me, nothing special

Wow...very interesting. I like the look and feel, but I must say the way the results are presented isn't that clear. Maybe we are just used to the way Google does it...

One thing though - there are millions of pointless/harmful/irrelevant websites out there; I would rather have a search engine that indexes fewer useful sites than a search engine that indexes billions and billions of web pages some of which are useless :) Just my 2c...

"Cuil gives users a richer display of results [such as] images to identify topics," reads the company's press release. And as loyal Reg reader Dr. Jonathan Grattage points out, he and his quantum research are identified with "little pictures of a US serviceman and a guy masturbating over some other poor sap":

I don't think people will be happy if that sort of thing start to happen to them...

I searched Digital Addiction LG Monitor ... and it couldn't find anything, I searched digitaladdiction.co.za ... and the closest thing it could come up to my website is a link on PC Buyers Guide. I have an alexa rank higher than they do and I'm not even listed amongst 121 billion pages ... pretty rubbish if you ask me ... but I'll check back if I remember a few months from now.
