I'm a long terms Vodacom subscriber and - having moved into a new house 8 days ago - realise they have little to no signal in my area :/ Sadly, I had 4 contracts with them and managed to cancel a days ago R1,350.00

It'd be too expensive to cancel the other 3 - so wondering if I can port them mid-contract at all? How would I start?

Also - is there any ex-Vodacom subscriber here that regrets their choice for any reason?

Thanks

Vodacom 3G -> 8ta 3G
8ta R200 10gb
VC R200+ 1gb
8ta 3mbps(on 3.6mbps card)
VC 1mbps
8ta Full reception
VC 2bars of 5
So no regrets

I doubt that. Hope I'm wrong though.

Which part do you doubt?
The no signal, mid contract port or regrets?

I tried Cell C a few months ago before I moved - but it since crashed. My old place had no Cell C for 2 months before I sold it off. In hindsight, I should have waited to see the status now.

8ta (roaming off MTN) is bad - but at least I get 0.4mbps if I really need.

I'm currently getting my prepaid 8ta to stick to 8ta towers - but want to double check the other queries first

If you received any devices (Handsets/Modems) on the VC contracts then you will most probably be charged a contract cancellation fee - per contract.

If not they will charge you an admin fee per cancelled contract.

The bit that I highlighted. ;) If you're mid contract and not willing to buy yourself out of it like you did with the one then I think you'll have to wait.

My personal experience?
Vodacom has become a second class network over the last few months.
MTN is by far a better netwrok in terms of quality of signal however you trade that for 1) service 2) billing.
I think MTN should concentrate on customer service.
I was with family from overseas today they were shocked at the Voda network crashing the other day, they said if that happened in their country, there would have been huge outcry and possible gvt intervention.
Overseas in a first world country where they pay less than we do, the network does not crash and perform so badly (often) and yet they service more people.

Sorry - missed this entirely :/ I've requested my prepaid 8ta to be off MTN roaming ... so should happen in a few days. If I get a good signal, I'm definatley going for it.

Yea - R1,350.00 for the one. I'd guess around R6,000.00 cancelation for the other 3 contracts ... which is BS considering they can't provide the service. I battle to browse on my BB and if I get through, it's super slow. So I pretty much use it for BBM.

Sorry - on the phone nothing was highlighted ;) I saw the requote of the full post. Pity about that :(

MTN gets about 1mbps at home - which so far, is the leader
