Good day, I need some excel help please, I want to create a chart (2D) that uses 2 sets of data, that’s the easy part, got that down, but I need the chart to update automatically as I add more data to the spreadsheet. Is there a refresh function I can use?

When u open the spreadsheet?

Are u keeping the data in a named range?

Well I sort of came right, but it’s not working as I want it too, probably not the software’s fault. I write a value of either 1 or 0 from an external source into one cell, the value will depend on the state of the external device, no problem there, but I now want to trend the state change over a 8 hour period in 5 min increments, is this possible in excel?

If it's an excel query, and your graph is looking at the named range.

Right click the querie and go to query properies.
You will figure it out.

Thanks Alf, but it does track the changes, but it only displays the one data range, I need to track the change over a time frame. Lest say that on the spreadsheet I have the chart header in field 1A and the data that is ever changing from 1 to 0 in field 2A, the chart does pick up the change in state, but only displays it as a single dot. I need to track the change in state over a 8 hour period in 5 min intervals.
