Exchange Server with ADSL Router

We are running an MS Exchange 2000 Server and cannot get this working with ADSL Router provided by Telkom. Telkom cannot offer any solutions either. Any advise would be greatly apprectiated.

Install smoothwall on a seperate machine and have this machine handle your adsl connections. Set this machine as your default gateway on your exchange server. You will then have to set up forwarding rules to forward all incoming smtp traffic to your server. This way you protect your MS box from evil haxors.

I've sucessfully got exchange behind a telkom adsl router to work. Where are you getting stuck ?
