I do absolutley no physical work, eat junk food and eat lots of beer.

I've stopped drinking beer (changed to whiskey) and I'm looking at buying an exercise bike. Will the combination of no beer and peddling help with my beer belly? :/

Yes but rather get a real bike Dolby and do some sit ups with a weight on your stomach.

Firstly eating beer is a bit odd :D

You must stop all beer.

Firstly you must remember a couple things as well, a beer belly is not just a beer belly, beer enhances and makes it far larger so stop drinking beer and move to whiskey and water for good.

Using a bike will not fix your swollen belly, to much fat in your stomach causes a beer belly as well not to the extent that eating loads of junkfood and beer does.

First step is stop beer.
Second step is eat better, less fatty food. Eat more salad and fruit, eat smaller meals.

I would recommend an orbitrek rather than a bike. works your whole body.

I don't want to leave my lounge .... ;)

So an exercise bike and no beer won't do anything, if I still eat my same Steers? :/

I always thought beer was worse than the junk food, so I'd be killing my greater evil

Well dolby some people are prone to a beer belly others are not.

Stopping beer alone will not make your tummy flat again, i know i stopped beer and my stomach went down alot but you need to stop eating junk all day and give your body some good natural food like fruit, veggies and so on.

Get your eating right before you think about a bike because you will wasting your time if you still eat badly.
Also getting on the road riding a bike will yield more results because once you are outside you will more than likely ride it for longer instead of having the distraction of tv, games or whatever else distracts you at home.

Here's my thinking. Tell me if I'm wrong (making up figures here) ...

I'm currently taking in 3000 calaroies between the junk food and beer, yet burning ony 1500 as I do nothing (net effect of 1500 calaroies)

Now I'll be taking in 2500 (no beer) and burning 2000 (net effect of 500)

Obviously taking in 2000 and burning 2500 is ideal, but this is a start ;)

You also have to factor in the shock effect. Your body will go into shock when you change your diet, and will instantly start storing more fat for just-in-case. It's wired like that.

No your body will not go into shock if you change your diet in a good way, your body will only start storing fat when you starve yourself.

Eating fruit and veggies and in general giving your body what it needs will not result in shock.

You want to lose weight so you need to burn off more than you put in surely. So you can put in 2500 and only burn 2000 you will not lose weight this way.

You need your body to start using it's stock pile. Getting rid of a beer belly is near impossible for most because your beer belly did not arrive in 2 months it has taken years so the net result is removing the beer belly will take 2-3 years of eating healthy and exercise is what i found and 99% of beer belly people will never last that long and go back to their bad ways. You can manage it by stopping beer though.

Another thing is if you do not eat well you will not lose weight which in turn will make you stop trying because you are seeing no results.

Dolby if you are taking in 2500 a day and burning 2000 then you are only going to slow the process of getting fatter.
Stop being lazy and get out on the actual road with a bicycle at least that way you engage your core and other stabilizer muscles.
If you really want to be lazy or set conditions to it then just accept that you are goning to be fat.
People who will only exercise under certain conditions never stick to it for long.
