I am not for this at all, BUT ... saying it if we all carry this cost, then I am for it. It will soon tumble down.

The real fun will happen when Trump slaps a 100% tariff on us for our BRICS membership + our *revised* VAT as a tariff + 25% Trump tariff for the privelage of doing business with the USA. Which would make our exports to the US exceedingly expensive for anyone over there importing our goods.

I wonder if they will ever buy our grapes or avos or aluminium or gold ever again? Surely that will affect our governmen't bottom line as well?

Thankfully the US is only our 3rd biggest trading partner, but still.

A lot of financial software developers will be holding their breath. Last time the VAT rate changed it was a complete **** show. You'd be surprised how many financial systems hardcode the VAT rate in their systems.
