A lot of countries have a tiered rate so you can't make a direct comparison. They also have lower overall rates and less types of taxes.lol people bitching about 2%, still below first world averages and inline with 3rd world averages. Yes we will be paying more and it sucks, but considering how long we waited before we increased VAT initially and dwindling pool of tax payers, it was inevitable...........
