Expediting Contract Payments

Hi I'd just like to know if it is possible to pay off monthly cellphone contracts in a 12 month repayment, that is to say paying double the monthly device and subscription fee . Also if I am able to do say am I liable for penalties for paying the contract early. The thing is I usually have a surplus of R2500 and I've been eyeing the samsung galaxy note 2 but patience is hardly my strong suit I refuse to save up for another 3 months but the idea of being tied to a contract for 2 years is too morbid to consider. I don't mind having the contract for 2 yrs in my name I just want to spend only a year paying
