Exploding batteries caused by Samsung rushing to beat Apple iPhone 7

Why the rush though? They always know when the next iPhone model gets released, so they could have planned accordingly. Unless, they of course wait on what is leaked to finalise their designs.

They casually ignored safety testing standards in rushing to beat Apple and suffered billions of dollars of market value loss as a result. I think you're seriously understating the situation.

Its just a battery. Its like saying wont buy iphone again because it bends. These things happen, unless u wanna buy Huawei from now on?
 
Only thing I got from this was a reminder not to be in a rush to buy the latest-and-greatest :p

My 6 and 6S hisses when pushed. It is not as loud as the 7 but it does it nonetheless. You can even hear it very faintly when scrolling if you hold the device against your ear.

Crappy that it's quite audible on the 7 though, should have been discovered in testing.

This is just pure baseless speculation. The Note is always released at the time of the year since the Note 1. Around IFA. So they were on schedule. Besides the fault has been traced to a fault batteries and is not related to the inherent design of the phone. Still this provides clicks and it is fodder for the unthinking masses, so there you have it...

Samsung wanted to push profits by launching before apple does amd in the process fcked over its loyal customers.

Actually, the article is based on hearsay and there's no actual evidence that Samsung tried to do anything suspect.

I might as well write an article saying that someone I know that has a cousin who works for the company that walks the dog of the parking valet for the secretary of the guy who works for MTN knows that Apple deliberately left out features on the iPhone 7 since they knew Samsung's Note 7 was going to explode.

Yes, that is a risk they took, as I stated, and it didn't work out to be profitable. No where am I under or overstating the impact of the said risk, but this happens in big companies.
