explorer decided to crash...help needed.

Yes it does

Then you have a virus that deletes the file as soon as it appears, I think you'd best do a complete system scan and after that fix the explorer issue...

Try this FIRST tho: CTRL + ALT + DELETE -> Task Manager -> New Task -> type "cmd" ->

Go into your DVD/CD-Drive where the Windows CD is located, IE. If your CD/DVD drive is D, type "D:" (no quotes, actually for all the commands no quotes)

Once there type "cd i386"
Type "expand explorer.ex_ %windir%\explorer.exe"
Finally type "%windir%\explorer.exe"

If in the command prompt it gives you this error:
"'explorer.exe' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file."

Then a virus/program call it what you want is deleting your explorer file as soon as it is restored.

Any other error report back ;)

EDIT: Btw. this is similar to how it works in the recovery console, except since you can actually run programs in Windows (IE. cmd) we don't need to use the recovery console, we'll just use standard commandline.

Woohooo!!
GNOME you are my HERO :D
Last note, for anyone trying this, pay very close attention to the spaces in the commands. They matter :D
