I got my importers code directly from SARS. Was really basic process. I am just curious if exporters code is the same process as all I cant seem to find any info onlineContact these guys: https://importexportlicense.co.za/
Applied for my export/import code a few months back. Took about 2 weeks +-
Cheaper if you just go direct with SARS but the convenience is worth it.
I plan to go directly to them but I can't seem to find out what documents they would require. Its cheaper to go to SARS Directly, Also the same process for both importers and exporters code.
It’s one and the same code, you just need to select both when applying.I plan to go directly to them but I can't seem to find out what documents they would require.
Also I could download and print the docs for the importers code but cant seem to do the same for exporters
Like an idiot I didnt apply for the exporters when I did the importersIt’s one and the same code, you just need to select both when applying.
Off the top of my head...
1. CIPRO doc
2. Tax clearance cert.
3. VAT certificate
4. Member ID copies certified
5. Proof of telephone account
6. Proof of operating add

So if you applied for an importers code you can use it for exports as well, no need to re-apply for an exporters code?Im/ Ex same thing.

You still have to complete and sign the documentation, get the required forms together. You are doing 99% of the work for someone else and they bill you for it? I have to start charging for this, lol. What was the cost?

Well right now - I don't know what it costs? According to the link, they courier the forms. If it costs less than the time it'll cost me to go to SARS - then why not?
The same reason I pay someone to do my vehicle license renewals, registration, transfers, etc.

Only a business can apply for an Import/Export Code.
When you doing the application, and you dont tick/check the exporters box, that means you only applying for the code/permit to Import.
If you now want to export, you will need to reapply for Export, using the same code allocated to you ( for import) .
Hence, apply for both right at the beginning.
If its maximum R20k value per shipment, your clearing agent can clear it under their code.I'm only interested in an importers code - probably going to pick up flak this year, I usually bring in 2-3 items a month.
