ext3 file system overhead?

Apparently ReiserFS is good for thousands of small files while ext3 is better for big files. That's what I've heard anyway.

A lot of people swear by Reiser, and a lot swear by ext3. I personally don't think it matters much, unless you're building a high performance server... then maybe the choice of file system will make a difference. If it's for something personal, go with what works for you.

yes I also read something along those lines

I am not that concerned about the performance (have both small and big files), just needs to be reliable

so far reiserfs seems to be much more efficient space wise, haven't seen any missing gigs yet, so I am happy
