Hi Everyone

I know this has already been covered - but haven't seen an update. (probably missed it due to the huge amount of traffic on this forum)

Has anyone heard anything about the availability of the external anteanna's that were supposed to have arrived in Jan.
I have heard rumours that people have already purchased. Is this true? If so, how much and where?!

P.S. Would just like to thank Shaun Green for his involvement on the forums!

I spoke with Shaun this morning and one of the things covered was the antenna. They are currently testing teh antenna's , but they are not available for general purpose yet.

Why test something that has been provided by the manufacturers of the modem?

The antennas work just fine in Australia?

BTW: Vodacom is providing free antennas to 3G users, WBS will need to do the same to keep me happy.

I spoke with Poynting Antennas on Monday. Apparently they will not be able to offer an alternative because of some proprietary fitting in iB. Its WBS or nothing. Sad.

Perhaps Shaun should give me an antenna to test, im 10km from base. Thats better testing than they will do im sure. ;)

1) The free antenna seems to be a nice idea but then it means the root of all evil is the built in antenna's they should then swap the units ???

2) Why only surface now when I was running like a speed demon in december
could not get enough of the d/load speed then?

Dont be fooled guys. I called this morning and Sheila says the aerials are stuck at customs!!!! This is now version no.32467346734 of the story!

Antennas appear to be the same as broadband in South Africa, only heard never seen!!

I was @ WBS Yesterday..

They are still waiting for the proper antennae's to land , but there are a select few locally made antennae's and conversion tails for the utd and utc. They are not yet up for general sale.

While I was there , one of the directors was shoing me a really cool IP phone setup , that if it goes on sale I will definately be getting.
