MyBB Super Filter

Then one would be blocking 99% of the users bots. Some of their content is generally ok and "contributive", but really - reposting tweets on a forum without even saying anything?

I mean; jesus just scrub for x.com, twitter.com or whatever the embed is.

edit
In fact, why not leave it open-ended for any such type reposts (twit, x, titktok, yt, etc)
I have a beta out for you to test:

Just give it a try and see if it does what you want with X. It actually turned out to be harder than I thought because X does some funky things to try bypass blocks.

Is there an option to block a user but not the thread they created ?
This is now a toggable feature in the new beta version. Please test and give feedback:

I advise people to use the import/export feature if they have created lists already

Awesome - I'll check it out.

I’ve been messing around with the extension code a bit, with some help from AI, and managed to get a Firefox-compatible version up and running.
While I was digging into it, I figured I might as well clean things up a bit and added a few extra filters for the stuff that usually clutters the feed. I’ve already submitted it to Mozilla for signing and approval, so I’ll share the official link once it’s through review.
On top of the original tool, I added a few things that make it feel a bit smarter in day-to-day use. There’s now a “social mute” option, which doesn’t fully block someone but hides their posts if they’re just dumping a YouTube or Twitter link with zero context. You can also control how strict that is with a dropdown, so you decide how much actual input someone needs before their post shows up again.
I also added a bot filter that wipes out posts packed with external links, mainly to deal with those SEO spam walls. The logic behind the filtering is a bit cleaner now too, it ignores text inside preview boxes so people can’t get around it by pasting titles into embeds.
I’ll let you know as soon as it’s live and ready to try.

If anyone is interested in a mass delete filter just shout.
I blitzed 50% of my 60 odd k posts with it. You just can’t delete threads (it replaces the OP text with ‘.’) and locked threads can’t be touched.
Why did you delete your posts?

Ive said lots of things on here that I dont feel bad about, but I was a **** communicator and am ashamed at some of my past posts. But other than 1 post, I dont care if any are dug up. Ive been pretty consistent. I dont think I would delete my posts.

It's not really that though for me. We're human beings, everyone is free to say stupid things as we all do from time to time, but why should what I say be recorded perpetually?
When you start a thread and other people contribute time toward a discussion, it's a bit meh to go and delete the context of that discussion. This is why I'm glad people can't request that all their threads get deleted....especially for more technical threads where someone replied with an effort to help & then people want to be selfish and basically piss on other people's contribution by trying to delete the thread.

The only posts that can't be deleted are locked threads and opening posts. Opening posts can be edited and the content removed except the heading. 35k of my posts are in locked threads or opening posts.
And quote replies.

And as mentioned it is only deleted from view. It is still in the database. Mods and admins actually see them in the thread with a "Show" link with each deleted post.
