External antenna discussions

I am aware of. I tried to explain that "direct plug and a pigtail plug" are the same things. :)

Yes sorry meant it has a direct/pigtail plug and thus no need for an inductive coupler

Just for reference:

We travel off road for fun but take our work with and need to follow up on enquiries regularly. I asked here for a solution.

@sajunky suggested:

Try B683 first. Place it in the middle of the windscreen. B683 has strong internal antenna, you can't get much better with external antenna installation.

The B683 as replaced by the B68A. And I got the B68A. I tried it at home but got worse reseception with the antenna than without the antenna (the B68A comes with a small screw on antenna).

As my real intention is to use it while traveling and while at relatively remote places (even my home in Simonstown seems to be remote ;-)) I would like to further improve the signal.

I spoke to Karabo at poynting.co.za and suggested the A-OMNI-0121-V3 antenna on the Kombi. The antenna Is R742.90 excluding vat. The car bracket is R138.00 excluding VAT.

(edit) One question: Where's best to mount this antenna to the Kombi? On the roof would be a problem as I would not get into the garage. Not to worry. I found the answer via this video by Poynting. See the last bit about the bracket.

BTW: I bought a 12v car charger for the router.
