Have a 5.5kva Petrol Generator. Want to run electronics off it (wired into DB board with changeover switch).

TV's, Xbox, Dstv, Laptops, Routers, Home theatres, etc

I doesn't have AVR built in. Can I add an AVR on the line to keep my delicates safe?

Any other suggestions bar spending gazillions on a new one?

AVR is not the solution.
A true 6kVA Sinewave Inverter is.

12V DC in, clean 230V AC out.

What makes you think that the genertor does not have AVR?

This is usually indicated no? Also wasn't a very expensive generator.

Admittedly I am quite stupid with these things.

It might be best to consider a generator with a built in AVR. The Ryobi 5.5kva generator has a built in AVR.

It probably is the best option. I was hoping there is a cheap-ish, easy way to achieve this. I can't justify the expense for two hours of comfort at a time for load-shitting.
