Any of you guys have any experience with this external battery?
It 'claims' to offer a normal 4.6A laptop an extra 4 hours life....

While I doubt it will really give 4hours... it should give a netbook, like the Acer Aspire (that only needs about 1.5A) etc, a good stretch of extra battery life?

I just purchased one, for one of the users.... we'll see how long it can last.
Much cheaper than a 2nd battery, and supposedly lasts longer.
Technically it should stretch the Acer's off-power life to >6hours then?
We'll see....

Ooh... Looks good, please remember to come back to us!

given it to our MD... he's been eagerly awaiting it, so I couldnt test it out last nite.
I'm sure he'll test it tonite to see how it worx, hopefully we'll have an idea tomorrow AM

jaa, but these are power supplies.... not batteries, that can give power on their own...
this external battery is a battery that powers the laptop (& charges the laptop battery) even without being plugged in.

about 3.5 hours extra time

Okay... so I connected the Mecer external battery to the Acer Aspire 1 (the 8Gb flash model)
was about 07h15 this morning.
the Acer thinks it is getting power from electric charger, but its only the ext battery on its own.
ran some apps, and left it also, with some of those screen savers with the moving stuff, chess board, gears, complex grapics etc etc, so it does use some CPU power, and screen ON all the time.
at about 11h05 the laptop shows its now running on its own battery power, so I guess the external is finished.
Not quite the 4 hours I was expecting (considering the netbook uses less power than a normal one),but Im used to suppliers 'specs' being a bit optimistic.
Still, its been >3.5 hours, and still have the lappies' own battery to go.
So I should be able to expect +-5hours life without power....
