Extract song from DVD ...

I want to extract a song from a dvd and be able to use it as an mp3 ... how do I go about doing this.

Please advise on any free software out there that I can use.

this way dumps the vob files to disc drive, then extracts the ac3 files. you can convert ac3 to wav, mp3 etc.

I was hoping to be able to mark start and end points on a dvd and let it extract the audio and get the mp3 output.

Should not take hours extracting just one song.

You can select which chapters to extract, which should make it a lot quicker. Concert dvd's normally have each song as a separate chapter, so find the one you want, extract it and convert it. Depending on your pc's speed it shouldn't take more than a few minutes for a short clip...
