Some of those comparisons are mind blowing...
I particularly like the comparison of Canis Majoris to the earth where an earth the size of a golf ball would compare with CM the size of Mr Everest.

The galaxy is 3.8 billion light years from Earth. A light year is about 6 trillion miles.

I hate it when everything is put into perspective like that.
