Extreme delay to EU servers?

Logged on today after my realm came back up. On unshaped, I am getting 2093ms. There aren't any background downloads happening, something is severely borked.

Kuga, tracerting to eu.logon.worldofwarcraft.com is not your realm. There is a way to get your realm ip address, which involves using netstat, cant remember the exact switches off hand

Thought i would check in have not played wow for the last few days, Is there any improvment or is it still laggy as hell?

I dont know whats up but my FNB Connect is 850+ where my normal SAIX shaped is 700-800ms :/

Is anyone using Axxess Semi shaped fibre? if so what are your latency lately, im thinking of moving over if its lower than im having now

My latency of late has been good but last night was not so good. Latencies were behaving strange, they ranged 320-6k.

This was the case using SAIX and Verizon backbone. The connection was unstable, and got DC'ed a lot. Was only doing 5man's heroics, but I was more likely to get the DC or freezing/delays in (at the start) of boss fights.

I didn't give IS a try since I'm capped with them.

Anyone else had same issues?

latency has been screwed for the last few weeks, you will be lucky to get below 500 now. They are meant to be fixing this level 3 optical cable today, so we will see from Tommie perhaps

From everybody's reports it seems that nothing in the chain to the EU is consistent. We can't even agree on a certain region having a set performance. Just goes to show how poorly the infrastructure performs.

My latency has been ace the last 2 weeks, from PTA east. Last time I choked was at the begging of July, new month is almost here so then I can see if it starts to form a pattern.

Really wish the big corporates would get it together, but doubt they ever will as long as we pay them. They got us by the ballas.

I had no problems last night, again on Verizon. It could be the server you are on, because Blizzard has more than one data-centre, and perhaps the problem was only to a specific data-centre?

I am using a static ip from MTNBusiness (Verizon) through iBurst, and havent had any problems. I assume Vodacome/Saix through iBurst is still messed up with the cable failure at Level3 Europe, but I hope its fixed by end of today, as they notified me 2 weeks ago repairs would take place between 21-28 of July

Hey Diagoe

How did you get a static Ip Thourgh Mtn Business?

The strange thing was that I seemed to have been spared the latency debacle seen in this thread until last night! Verizon used to be the bees knees for me, humming at 300ish to Lightbringer. This changed last night.

I'll have a look tonight, but given what we have seen of late confirms my suspicion that the people trying to 'fix' this are no different to a bunch of monkeys trying to ***** a football....i.e unlikely to achieve anything anytime soon.......sigh

Ordered it through iBurst via Shaun. Its an additional cost but I really dont have much of an option until Vodacom/Saix/Level3 get their act together.

How much extra is the cost? I been using gamemax for the last week only way i could actualy get on and play was with gamemax, paying around R70 for it. Latency hangs around 200 -300ms with an Occasional dc on Big Aoe fights

Last night was the first time in a while my latency was back to normal ...just under 300ms stable the whole time - no d/c's, all good.

Unshapped Webafrica (SAIX) on Lightbringer EU. Friend of mine also in CT, experienced exactly the same thing. Finally!

latency No better on iburst keeps lag spiking all the time :( guess i will have to do what Diegoe did and pay extra for a service to get it working.

Iam actualy really annoyed that i have to take these steps to get something working that should be working but i guess i got no choice :( paying R1200 for a service that dont work properly
