Hi guys,

(sorry for the long post)

I'm trying to assist my uncle remotely with this Ezviz Wi-Fi Camera's.

He's got the following equipment:
  1. Ezviz ezNVR (CS-X5C-8)
  2. 4 x Ezviz C3W Wi-Fi Camera's
2 of the camera's are connected directly to the NVR's Wi-Fi and these are working fine but 2 of the other camera's are out of range of the NVR and thus have to connect to his home network.

The 2 camera's which are on his home network turn off every evening at exactly 19:30 and then come back on again in the morning. It's almost as if they're going into hibernation mode.

He did reach out to Ezviz but they've come back with the following suggestions:
  1. Increase the DHCP lease time on the router (not quite sure why this would help).
  2. Reset the devices and try re-connect them again.
  3. Install an external AP - this has been done (A UniFi AC-M unit has been installed outside. Channel selection is good & signal strength and connectivity to the devices during the day is perfect).
I've suggested that we use a dedicated camera SSID for all the camera's and force them to only use this network. They would all be within perfect range of the AP and I'm hoping that this might remove some variables from the equation. I've set this SSID up and when it stops raining, he'll reset the camera's and connect them to this SSID.

Hikvision/Ezviz seem to be clueless and seem to be taking the "have you turned it off and then on again" approach to tech support.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what may resolve this?

This sounds like a schedule timer telling the cameras to 'go to sleep' - is there such a setting in the software? I am unfamiliar with the NVR software and functions

Thanks - no setting that we can find.

Maybe setup a continuous ping to both cameras and see if having constant traffic keeps them alive?
It might also be a good idea to try static IP's on the cameras.
Often there will be a web interface available on the camera IP and there are generally camera specific settings in that interface.

Going to try the EZVIZ Studio app suggestion :)
There is a setting hidden in the app itself that makes the camera sleep by default.Im sure you have found this setting now and disabled it,but its in the notification schedules.

Problem was a power issue.... there's now a power supply right by the 2 previously problematic camera's and they're working great!

Thought I’d resurrect this old thread. I bought an X5C NVR and 2 C3W Husky Air cameras about 2 months ago. All was working well for more than a month.

Suddenly, both cameras stopped working with the NVR and I was given an error which said “the username or the password or the random code is wrong”. Also, when trying to link the camera via the EZVIZ app to my NVR, it said incorrect password.

I spoke to EZVIZ support about it for a couple of weeks. They escalated the issue and made me install some kind of development firmware. They then sent me a beta firmware with a fix.

The fix worked up until the camera is rebooted. Now it says Network Unreachable. I’m now at a loss and have decided to ask Makro for a replacement.

My old system still works 100% at home. It’s just weird how the new ones that I bought for another premises just refuse to work :(

Update: EZVIZ provided me with a new firmware for the cameras that I had to manually install. I tried them out before Makro could collect the cameras and confirmed they fixed the problem. One important step is to reset them after installing the firmware.

Looks like the firmware is now available online via the app too.
