just a quick question,I have a 3.06 ghz dual core processor hyperthreading intel ok.(775 i think)
i have 1024 ddr2 ram(the highest one i think its ddr2 667)
I have a geforce ddr1 256 meg graphix card.
But for gawd sake i still cant run the game properly.
i mean it gobbles resources but damn not so much man,why is this game the only game that i came across that must have low grafix to play.

i play carbon all settings full even call of duty full, but this fear is a old game and still its letting me pull out my hair.
please tell me what you think i should do(i am thinking it was awaste to buy this game altogether

My system is as follows and I can play the game perfectly,

Intel Pentium 4 3Ghz LGA775 (NOT Daul Core)
1GB DDR400 (Daul Channeled)
GeForce 7600GT 256MB

I have tha latest motherboard ga vm800pmc.the latest chip the latest ddr2 but i think now where my problem lies,mr g just cleared it up...thanks man
its my grafix card it a nvidia 5500 fx card(2 years old i think),but this should not cause lag right,or what do you think.
I like the card but i guess i gonna have to upgrade the grafix card to,Shyte i just spent alot of money to make my pc superfast(as it was due for a 2007 upgrade) and now i have to spend another 1500rand on a grafix card.
I should of just upgraded to a ps3,damnit.

HA. i got a amd 3200+ 939
1024mb ddr
x1600pro overclocked with drr3
And the game runs perfectly on my system @ 1280 by 1024 and every thing on medium or high.
You might have a DX8 card and to many applications running at once(look at your task bar)

There is your problem right there:

"grafix card it a nvidia 5500 fx card"

Closer to 5 years old.

lol - thanks for reminding me about this game - it fell behind the xbox and I forgot I even had it :o

I wont say get a new card yet bud. The new gen of cards is bound to drop prices soon, and we also have to see what ATI is going to do. I would recommend holding on for a month or two before you fork out the R1500. You can also look at some year old cards (like 7600), they can be picked up for between 600-800 at the moment. You still have a AGP board I assume?

If he has a GFX5500 then its most likely a AGP based board, so upgradability is a bit limited. http://www.pcinternational.co.za/components.asp has a AGP 7600GT for R1390 excl VAT (so R1584.6 incl). That card will kick a 5500 silly, it is even better performing than a 6800. The 7600GS is also a option and you might be able to get one for R1000 in AGP version. It performs more like a 6600GT if I recall correctly.

well i installed da extreme custom nvidia drivers v97.44 forcewarwe drivers, but i dont really know what its done to the card,To me everything is da same.well i might install fear atgain and see if these custom drivers forces da gpu to react better

sunbird ,i know its a lost cause asthere is really nothing you can do to a 5500fx,i googled it last night. But there is a way to really make your grafix card better, but this involves puttin other fans on,replacing heatsinks, let me show you the site that tells you all about making old cards 2007 compatible. Its all about customengineering your card

this is da post from another guy

You cant flash it to anything or change any volts by flashing, you also cant tweak the memory timings on them. There is no advantage to flashing the card unless you want to change the stock clocks. Add some ramsinks and use arctic silver 5 on the heatsink and overclock it. That and using tweaked drivers is about all you can for the card. I know this because I had one.

ok this drivers did make a difference i can play da game ok,but i dont understand how custom drivers does it,to me it looks da same, but anyways it works
