F1 2008

Massa did the best job today. No denying that. Just the fact that he didn't clip the wall once is enough evidence of that. You can't say he was lucky because he went off where there was a run off area; good drivers know where they can take the most risk.

Bwahahahahahaaaa!
So what happened... how did he end up third from pole... :p
Man, he was beaten by a BMW in 5th/4th on the grid...

yes it did brad

massa had an incredible lead over hamilton, safety car removed that

after that ferrari made massa come third with putting him on a 1 stopper and not 2

he then had a fat belly and had to stop again to put on slicks

i can assure you had hamilton not been so lucky with the safety car he would not have won man

you know it as well

All the SC did was bunch the pack up... not assist anyone with overtaking... and there was always going to be one or two... in fact there was one after Hamilton pulled out the stops... why couldn't he do anything about that one? Cos you have to go faster to win races... :p

ok massa's first half of the race was good because had the same fuel as hamilton and had a fast car

then the safety car came out, destroyed massa's good work

then ferrari changed him to a 1 one stop and not a 2 stop which it should have been considering the track was drying

by this point hamilton's fuel was going down and massa had a fat belly and could not keep up with hamilton

yes hamilton's crash helped him win brad because:

he hit the wall and then pitted at which time they filled his car very full, this played into the hands of hamilton when the safety car came out

not only did he escape a 50 second mistake but he now had 20 more laps of fuel than massa

from the time the safety car came out i know hamilton had a great chance of winning

Don't worry guys, it's not easy losing, I know the feeling... it will all blow over and there are other races coming...

How about the next few... where is Massa going with all this... I think he will seriously challenge Kimi for the title if it's a Ferrari one. I still think he may mess up when it counts because of experience, but that will come - he definately is the hungrier of the two and has the potential to be WC...
Whats your take on the Ferrari boys?

brad im not upset he won, f1 is about luck and hamilton had alot of bad luck last season, this race he got some good luck

kimi is totally out of form, looks dis interested

reminds of haikenen just before he retired

the fight will be between massa and hamilton

from what i saw today i see no reason why massa cannot dominate the rest of the season apart from a few tight tracks where hamilton will be strong

there are to many tracks that suit ferrari and i think massa's time has come for world champion

plz note brad this is not a biased comment

i think if mclaren can find a little more speed, then it will be close between the 2

also lets not forget kubica here, he is only 6 points behind hami

if bmw can get a bit more speed i dont see why he cannot be up there as well

Lets go away from the Monaco topic Brad. I believe it will be between Massa and Hamilton for the championship. What's your view on that?

Possibly, but I wouldn't write Kimi off just yet - don't underestimate the ability of kimi when chasing the title... last year for e.g.
But yeah, I still think Massa deserves to be ahead considering he is trying harder. Also, don't forget there are races coming up that really suit Kimi.

Wouldn't that be nice... I'm not convinced yet... years of two horse races... how long has it been since a change... Alonso was the first real change since Hakkinen/Schumi... let's hope, I like Kubica myself.

well done hammy, but the reds will be back with a vengeance, especialli Kimi come Canada.

I disagree, it's not easy winning, losing is easy, just crash the car on the first lap ;) :p

Personally I'm hoping Kubica wins it :D Actually, if Hamilton had damaged his car on clipping the wall there, Kubica would have won it...

Feel so bad for Sutil though :(

he was probably going very light, VERY light and will do something like a 2 stop or maybe even a 3 stopper.. lets see what happens, its very interesting though

I agree dutchman... I seriously think they have found a Niche for Hammy and his karting style (see the way he takes corners ala speedway lol).
Light car apparently works alot better for him, but pulling off a 3 stop is not easy anywhere... I have a suspicion they have made this his signature, time will tell...

i think we all knew these 2 races would favour would favour mclaren

hamiltons lap was really good

i do think he is running very light though, i cannot see how he can be that much faster to be honest

if he is running a 3 stop he needs to get out in front if kubica and kimi jump him at the start i cannot see how he will win with a 3 stop

maybe he actually had an amazing lap and is only 2 stopping

cannot wait for this race

killadoob, Hamilton is not much lighter than the Ferrari's (if at all). He went P1 because he managed to get through turn 10 better than everyone else. The track is breaking up horribly there and it's full of stones and sand.

after quali hamilton said he found more than six tenths but then just after that he also commented on turn 10 where everyone lost time by saying he may have found a strategy to combat that corner... so I think I agree, he may not be that much lighter than the red cars! we'll see ;)
