F1 2011 thread

The more races the better.

If the driver really has no say in the matter then why is webber so far behind? You can say the car is the reason vettel is so good but why is it beyond the imagination to think the redbull is so good due to vettel?

Look at ferrari, massa is basically fking useless while alonso chases podiums and wins.

I think it's all nonsense trying to say one guy gets a faster or more reliable car than his teammate. Totally pointless. What if your lead driver crashes or has a mechanical failure? You want your number 2 twiddling his thumbs further back? What about the team's quest for a constructors title? Or is team glory irrelevant in the face of a drivers' personal glory? What if your #1 is in a title fight, would you not want your #2 to be quick enough to ride ''shotgun''? I don't believe it.

I do believe team orders play a role, but a team would not willingly give one of their drivers a weaker or slower car. They may get newer parts later and the #1 may be given parts preference, but not make an inferior car all round.

Michael annihilated every teammate he had in every team. Even as a young upstart, he beat his teammates. He plonked an unfancied Jordan 7th on the grid in his debut Grand Prix at a real driver's track, Spa. Barrichello was plenty fast, but he was no world champion. This is further reinforced by his inability to beat Button in the Brawn's, and while he may be a world champion, Button profited from an utterly dominant car early on in the season. Eddie Irvine threw his title shot out of the window in Michael's absence in 1999. Michael had to let Irvine past into the lead TWICE during the 1999 Malaysian GP. In one stint Michael had purposely driven slow and held Hakkinen up in second place to aid Irvine, who was too slow to gain time from the pit-stops.

Red Bull may pay more attention to Vettel's car now (what with Webber's kers and DRS issues early in the season), as he is the #1 even if they say both drivers are equal, but last season, both he and Webber had misfortune. Vettel more so than Webber.

That was quite an off... he stopped completely... don't like using the word dead lol.

That's just a little bender... It's one of my favorite racing weekends with Le Mans on as well... Anyone catch McNish's "little" off?
