F1 2012 thread

Always Mclaren in the controversy.
To be fair on Vettel he was off the track most of the race...

Mclarens always whining bout other drivers being unfair, whether it's shumi, Maldonado or Vettel. Mclaren should stop acting like a bunch of girls and start winning races.
Wahahahaha! It was Mercedes / Brawn who complained about the Redbull traction control / blown diffuser system.
Someone has it in for girls it seems lol.

Hamilton on Pole :)

1 Hamilton McLaren 1'20.953
2 Grosjean Lotus 1'21.366
3 Vettel Red Bull 1'21.416
4 Button McLaren 1'21.583
5 Räikkönen Lotus 1'21.730
6 Alonso Ferrari 1'21.844
7 Massa Ferrari 1'21.900
8 Maldonado Williams 1'21.939
9 Senna Williams 1'22.343
10 Hülkenberg Force India 1'22.847

Seems Vettel did pretty well considering he had no magic pedal :p
I just hope the Ham didn't shred tyres to get that time - glad he went for it regardless...

Redbull's dodgy ride height adjuster

http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/101572
Fresh from the reigning champions being involved in a row over engine maps in Germany last week, it emerged in Hungary that back at the Canadian GP the team was asked by the FIA to change a mechanism that gave it the possibility to alter front suspension settings manually.

Teams are supposed to only use tools to make such adjustments, and the FIA was not happy with the ease by which Red Bull could change its suspension - and therefore alter the ride height. It was asked to modify the system so that tools needed to be used.

The regulations state that teams cannot change suspension settings between qualifying and the race - and in order to ensure compliance tools must be used to make such alternations.

Article 34.5 of the Sporting Regulations states: "In order that the scrutineers may be completely satisfied that no alterations have been made to the suspension systems or aerodynamic configuration of the car (with the exception of the front wing) whilst in post qualifying parc ferme, it must be clear from physical inspection that changes cannot be made without the use of tools."

The benefit of having an easily adjusted suspension setting would be in allowing changes to be made to the car before the race without raising the suspicion of scrutineers - but Horner is adamant that his outfit never exploited that possibility.

"It was something that could either be changed by hand or by tool, but the FIA said they preferred it was a tool that was used," Horner told AUTOSPORT.

Awesome awesome awesome!! :D

Kimi looked strong at the end and worried me a bit but Lewis managed to pull it off! :D

1 step closer to the WDC

I dunno hey, alonso is still nearly two wins away.

Great results for the world championship, so many possibles now .

What a race. Lotus is so close to their win. But what a drive from Lewis. Great race.

What has happened to to driver press interview after the podium presentation?Do they only have a celeb interview?

Awesome race but Alonso still has more than the edge. certainly is exciting from 2-4th. I feel for Grosjean - he did a superb job of keeping Hamilton honest for ages, only to be taken by an aggro Kimi out the pits. Of course it was better that way for the team, but that move was pretty harsh lol. To his credit, he handled it like a pro.

Maldonado once again showing that he is mal and watching him makes me need a few panardo.

He did exactly the same to Vettel. Seems drivers can push each other off track as-long as you follow the racing line.

Other wise was mostly a procession. Kimi was on fire and that strategy was beast. Dunno what Red-Bull and the other side of the McLaren Garage was doing. Good drive from Hamilton

Mostly that stands to reason. When overtaking you have to settle into the racing line at some point to make it stick. Posession of that line is 9/10 ths of the law :)

I lol'd at Vettel telling his team "I can go much faster than him [Button] so do something" :D

Over race radio Vettel gave the astonishing command: "I can go much faster than him so do something!" and then "Try something, try something!" to which he got the sensible reply from his engineer Rocky: "There are cars behind, Sebastian, we can't just do anything."

Well they should have done something, for some reason mclaren ruined buttons race by bringing him in.

I lolled at williams IIRC when Jenson was stuck behind them. Faking the pitstop. That was a serious LOL.

Do something? How about overtaking him with your speed advantage you stupid chop. He pisses me off every time I see him, so much so that hope he gets transferred to Force India or NASCAR.

I think he was asking them to adjust the ride height and give him more downforce... or the pedal to torque ratio lol!

Did you watch the same race? You cannot overtake unless you are so much faster than the other car, he was stuck and asked redbull to think up something to change it, mclaren then thought hey let's take button and put him out behind senna because we are idiots and redbull got lucky.
