F1 2012 thread

It's going to be a rather boring race, we can only hope hamilton's pace is one lap pace. I hope it won't be like redbull, pole then cruise to victory.

I know mclaren have had pole plenty this season and failed to convert it to wins on many occasions.

You mean boring like the last three? I doubt the race will revolve around Hamilton, action is going to be Alonso's move up the grid. Watch Hamilton 'make a mistake' and let Alonso past :D he has nothing to lose, unless he's horrendously fast.

Lol. Redbull thought they'd get away with telling porkies to the stewards. They should have nailed the team for that... instead they got away with a rap on the knuckles. Chops.

"Except in cases of force majeure (accepted as such by the stewards of the meeting), if a sample of fuel is required after a practice session the car concerned must have first been driven back to the pits under its own power."

Red Bull representatives were summoned to provide an explanation for why Vettel did not return to the pits, and the stewards duly accepted the reasons provided by the team.

However, following a further check of the car by the FIA in parc ferme, it was found that Vettel's car did not have enough fuel to provide the one-litre sample.

A statement issued by the FIA said: "The stewards heard from the driver and team representatives and studied telemetry evidence that showed the reason why the car was stopped.

"The Stewards accepted the explanation and considered the incident as being a case of force majeure.

"However a report was received from the Technical Delegate that showed during post-qualifying scrutineering an insufficient quantity of fuel for sampling purposes."

SA style "It's broken" instead of "We f'ed up".

They were hoping the stewards were a bit dim - only they pushed it a bit far. Hey - our front wing flexes when we race, but it doesn't if you put a pocket of cement on either side, so we're cool right? Yeah, OK, I guess so. At least we know you're not going to win a race with a pocket of cement either side of the nose, so you're cool :D

You realize mclaren did exactly the same thing, they got busted as well.

Remember lewis was sent to the back of the pack? Hamilton does not like alsono, there is no way he would let alonso win. I am fairly certain hamilton is thinking about the team and doesn't care about the drivers. So why would he wreck points for his team ipx?

The latest creative story from Horner:

There was enough fuel in the tank, but you can't get to it without removing the bodywork which is illegal :D

http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/104004
But Horner, who accepted that the penalty was fair, insists that the fuel was there, but that a full litre could not be extracted without removing bodywork, in contravention of Article 6.6.4 of the Formula 1 technical regulations.

"The rules dictate that one litre has to be able to be provided without the removal of bodywork, without manipulating the car," said Horner.

"We believe that the fuel is in the cell, according to what Renault have told us, but you cannot dismantle the cell to give the sample.

I think the word Bull should be in bold on all their products :D

I think best way to cover up a fuel issue, is to set the car on fire :D. worked for williams. Not sure if they would be allowed to repair it before race day though.

Bull is bold in their products, haven't you seen their logo? A huge bull

See this is what i love about f1, mclaren did the same thing with hamilton, redbull does it and they are cheats.

Williams literally set their car on fire and nobody mentioned that but redbull always get called cheats.

I wonder if hamiltons quali pace will be race pace. Cannot wait to find out.

This race is really spicing up ... how about Webber's spin.

No dstv but watching on the iPad timing app.
Vettel seems to be driving the wheels off!

Frigging Webber

Edit: minimum of a drive through penalty for that touch?
