F1 2012 thread

I wonder though, how did they get it wrong?

Geez i was in awe of hamilton, i thought holy fk this oke can pull off one lap times like no one else but i guess perhaps his pace in quali has been mclaren running on empty tanks and they got caught out at this gp. His quali pace has yet to match his race pace.

This makes paster's lap remarkable then. Wow so many exciting drivers at the moment with the machinery to get nice results. Perez is fast becoming my fav driver.

When did they tank the fueled in quali for the race rule? Was it 2 seasons ago? Pretty sure all teams are running on fumes. McLaren, like so much else this season so far, got it tactically wrong...

All teams run on fumes but they must have 2L available in the car for testing after quali. McLaren got it wrong but I'm looking forward to a spirited fightback from Lewzer Hamilton, even though my blood is rosso corsa

Wahahahaha thats just awesome....

Gonna be a bloody interesting race today I reckon.

Pastor was given a push from God...

I say watch out for Rosberg and Schumi, extra set of tyres ...

What do you mean pushed by god, was god behind his car or something? I never saw anything. I think it had more to do with pastor being a good driver with a solid car that was working well. Not sure some mystery force had anything to do with it or does god have favourites? If he did push pastor then pastor should be disqualified for cheating.

Rosberg and shummi will be nowhere. lucky to finish in the top 10 :p

I hope GOD is with man united tonight but i suspect he favours city so united have no chance, i wonder who he prefers between bolton and qpr.

Question -

If towards the end of the race the drivers control, traction, acceleration are better because of all the rubber that's been put down on the track why do they not put a layer of rubber down as standard ?

Too expensive, too fragile, too stupid a question ?

I don't think it is really viable to put 24 cars on a track for 40 laps to lay down rubber, prior to a race. You cannot expect the gp drivers to do it so you would need to employ people and have 24 cars available to you.

A star is born!!!!!!!!!!!!! if perez was not hit he could have done so well. I cannot believe how close this season is, there are 5 or 6 teams capable of winning. Watching koybashi is always fun, wish he could get picked up by ferrari. What a race though.

Vettel drove well, wow showed what he can do from the back. Hamilton as well but how on earth did mclaren think they could do a 2 stop race LOL. When i heard that i thought hmmmmm you guys need to replace your staff.

What I meant was having a complete layer of rubber on top of the surface - not put down by cars on the racing line.

Expensive and dangerous. Rubber wears easily and the heat they generate is high, i also somehow doubt you will spin on rubber perhaps and cars might start flipping or something crazy. Could be wrong but it doesn't sound viable to me.

Besides i would not want to see the days of michael again, tires lasting an entire race and people only stopping because they are forced to make one pitstop.

Well done to Pastor. F1 is a freaking lottery this year. Hamilton did well starting from the back to beat his team mate. Best over taker of the race goes to the CRASH KID! Just silly of him to overtake during the yellow flags.

It was an interesting race but the tires are stealing the show. Its not about who builds the best car or the best drivers anymore, its about how lucky you are, that when you do your qualy lap the sun shines and there isn't a cloud in the sky, or that at any given race weekend you have no part in making your own luck, just pray and hope the weather is warm enough or cold enough so you can get the tires in that little sweet spot. Entertaining races yes feels more like WWE than anything else.

Rubbish dude, pastor qualified on pole and won the race, tell me how did tires dictate the result?

Would you rather go back to the days of michael? Round and round with no over taking. F1 is not suppose to be about the best car having the best driver and obviously romping home. I am loving this. So much excitement and pastor never won on anything but raw pace as did alonso. What you are seeing and it may be new is ferrari, mclaren, mercedes, redbull, williams andsauber capable of winning races. Look at quali yesterday, you can see those cars have raw pace.

Yes the tires are affecting the races but what is making this the most exciting season ever is we are not seeing one or two teams dominating the field. Nothing to do with tires. It seems to me this is becoming more like gp2 in terms of the performance of each car and seriously dude how can you want the racing to go back to the best car and driver.

The last few seasons have been amazing, you cannot go take a piss without missing action. I used to fall asleep and miss half the race when michael was dominating and a couple years after he retired. No thank you, they can keep that BS in the history books :D. This is f1 not a bore-fest FFS :p
